The prices are pretty standard and the ambiance is what you would expect for a sports bar. I will definitely add this stop to my list for my next trip to the area. After 14 years in business in Glen Allen, local restaurant Home Team Grill has traded the sports moniker for one that shares the name of its community.
To the menu, some nice salads and a vegetarian burger. The menu is loaded with great choices from a simple small salad and half sandwich to burgers, chili and wings. Tuesday nights are 1/2 price burgers and now they also offer different dinner specials every weekday night. I noticed that now they also offer Sunday brunch which I am planning to bring my kids because it’s such an easy place to be. We are so lucky to have this locally owned restaurant in our neighborhood.

My fiance had a burger and fries and it looked and tasted like every other Applebee's, Chili's, etc. burger and fries you can get anywhere. Do yourself a favor and skip it. I was in town on business and was looking for some home town flair for lunch and ran across the Home Team Grill and was not disappointed. I was greeted and seated quickly upon my arrival and the staff was very friendly and courteous. Pepsi left in the 1960’s and the building was used intermittently until it was acquired in 2003 by the Blackwood Development Co. It was repurposed and renovated in 2005 to create seven residential condominiums with entrances on Vine Street fronted by a restaurant space facing Main Street. In order to preserve some of the historic features of the building, some aspects of the archways and original brickwork were retained. Built in 1887 by the City Railway Company, this building was originally used as a horse-car barn and maintenance facility for Richmond’s horse drawn trolley system.

Long wait for such a small portion and high price tag. I needed to find a place where a group of 8 could have a good dinner and watch the USA Women play soccer while celebrating my daughter's birthday. Interested in advertising your business, organization, or event? Fare is standard bar/grill food with one caveat-it's GOOD! I chose some home made house chips sprinkled with Old Bay seasoning as an appetizer that were wonderful. As an entree, I ordered the Bacon Jam Burger medium rare and it was fantastic!
I think the appeal here is the "home team" actually. There seems to be a lot of support for local sports, which is all well and good, but if you're coming here for the food rather than the atmosphere you're in the wrong place. I had an Italian sub with fries. It was ok, fries were too salty though.

Great locally owned sports bar and restaurant. Food always great as is the service. Great burgers, salads and sandwiches.
We love this spot for watching football with friends. The menu is good, and has options for everyone. The food is great - we love the veggie nachos and fish tacos. Portions are generous, and there are plenty of TVs. We've give this local bar and grill more than a few tries.
Reviews before thinking about Home Team Grill and the good experience I had there a few years ago. I was welcomed by a delightful hostess and a very pleasant manager. Our server was patient and friendly as we ordered food at different times as we watched the soccer game. The food, which included wings, sandwiches, wraps and burgers, was all delicious.

Home Team Grill is proud to be in this historic building that embodies Richmond’s unique history. This is one of those great little places to go for lunch. The menu has something for everyone, and the pricing is spot on. This is a new restaurant concept from John and Jayme Taxin, owners of Bookbinder’s Seafood and Steakhouse. The couple first tested the waters as a pop-up operating during the pandemic and, after its success, decided to expand to this new location. Home Team Grill menu has been digitised by Sirved.
